Every time a new month starts, I get really excited for my Birchbox to come. If you’ve never been introduced to the Birchbox program, you are missing out. Every month, for only $10, they send you a set of sample beauty products. However, what really sets them apart from just being a samples company is that if you find something you really love, you can go to the site and order a full-size product. It’s great to be able to try out some more expensive brands before you commit to purchasing them, and their sample sizes are good for more than one application!

Although I absolutely adore Color Club’s nail polish (which is a gorgeous bright blue called Insta-This), I was a little disappointed with the rest of the products in my box. The twistband keeps getting tangled in my hair, the facial wash/polish set wasn’t anything to rave about, and the beauty balm was so-so. I did really enjoy the tasty health bar, but $9 is ridiculously steep to even consider even ordering more. I also really liked the idea of the q-tips with built-in makeup remover, but I found that there was not enough liquid to cover a large area. They work great to throw in your bag for overnight trips, though  — they make it easy to clean up second day eyeliner runs! Not a bad box all-in-all, but I’m hoping for some more exciting products to try out in October’s box!
