Halloween Costume Inspiration: Daphne

My fourth Halloween costume idea comes from one of my great loves: Greek mythology. Apollo falls hopelessly in love with the river nymph, Daphne, who is forced to cry out for help to escape this unwanted attention and is then turned into a laurel tree. I love how the Greeks mixed their gods with phenomenas of nature, so it’s no surprise that the myth of Daphne and Apollo is one of my favorites!

For this look, I really wanted to focus on items that most women probably already have in their closet for fall, since this look is all about the transformation of nature. Add some embellishments such as leaves on your dress, or a headband made to look like branches and you’re on your way to turning into Daphne. Soft curls really compliment the natural theme and if you’ve got red hair then, yowzah, you are going to look just stunning in that bright green dress! Have fun with adding your own accessories and makeup — you can’t really wrong in this autumn-appropriate outfit!
