October Birchbox

I have to admit, I was not exactly thrilled when I opened this month’s Birchbox. Facial cleaners are great and all, but that’s not what I hope to see when I open my box of samples — I want an exciting product, like nail polish in an unexpected color, or a sample of a perfume. I was really excited to try out the tea samples (I am a huge tea lover), but hesitant about the rest. I ended up trying everything out over the past week and the tea was especially delicious, but the rest of the box didn’t let me down either!October Birchbox
1- DDF Brightening Cleanser
2- Mighty Leaf Tea – Tea Pouches (in Organic Earl Grey, Organic African Nectar, & Green Tea Tropical)
3- per-fékt beauty Lip Perfection Gel (in Melrose)
4- Orofluido Exilir
5- Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
There weren’t very many products, but the pure size of the DDF Brightening Cleanser probably accounts for that — it came in a humongous sample size of 4.5 fluid ounces, which is the biggest sample I’ve received from any company ever! After getting over my initial sadness that there weren’t any “exciting” products, I gave the samples a shot and I’ve actually really enjoyed them. The radiance serum went on easily and wasn’t oily, the cleanser left my skin feeling silk smooth and didn’t irritate it at all, but my favorite so far has been the Orofluido Elixir. I have naturally wavy hair, and so sometimes I have to sacrifice shine for texture — but by using a little of this natural oil on my hair before styling, I got the best of both worlds! The product itself is a little pricey for me right now, but I’ve definitely been turned on to looking for a cheaper hair oil alternative to help give my hair that sleek, healthy look! A close runner-up was the cleanser not only for its size, but because my skin felt so smooth and clean after I used it. Maybe next month there will be some more unusual items, but for now I am enjoying my everyday, naturally healthy samples.
