It’s time to start anew — think simple and clean! If you keep yourself organized, it’s easier to focus your attention on other things, like asking that cute guy who moved in next door if he wants to come over and join weekly game night!

Nail Polish Inspiration: Pink + Glitter

Today I was privileged to work with rising 6th graders for 555-XXL, a career day run by Roanoke City Schools where the students get to tour and learn about the museum where I intern, the Taubman Museum of Art. While I can definitely say that the six-hour program was tiring, it was also lots of fun to escort my group of 32 kids around and teach them about some of the most exciting parts of the museum. In honor of this exciting, youthful occasion I gave myself an extra-fun mani to match the mood! Nothing quite represents the energy and inquisitiveness of a sixth grader as well as bright pink and glitter to me!

essie Off the Shoulder + Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular!

This color combo is so girly and reminds me of confetti — I feel like I’m always prepared for life’s party! The girls loved it and some of the boys even commented on the glitter, too funny!  Check out what other lacqueristas have created with this great glitter polish below:

Best of Forever 21’s Hello Kitty Forever Collection

Oh my gosh, I found out about a fabulous sale today and I just had to share with you guys! Forever 21 is having a buy one get one free sale on their entire Hello Kitty Forever Collection! While Hello Kitty might be a little childish for some, I think it’s important to keep the fun sense of fashion that we all had when we were younger. I know I used to walk around the house in my tutu’s and “princess heels”, so why do I have to only wear grown up clothes if I still get the sense of joy that comes with playing dress up?

The general rule I like to go by is allow yourself one fun, slightly outrageous piece per outfit. Want to wear your new teal spiked platforms? Pair them with a simple dress and blazer combo. Trying to accessorize your nude embellished bodycon dress? Try neutral accessories and a simple hairstyle. Always keep the balance between functional and fun to maintain a chic, yet classic look that will always be in style.

So without further ado, here are my top 5 picks from the Hello Kitty Forever Collection — rush over to Forever 21 and grab them while they still have a good selection of sizes!

Which one of the Hello Kitty pieces is your favorite? Personally, I can’t get over how adorable the head scarf is — so chic, yet fun! Remember, just because you’ve grown up doesn’t mean you can’t still dress in a fun way on your days off! (Plus, we all know jeans and sweats just do not cut it!)
